1 km² model tour in real-time using
VRML. This is also a great example of a highly undulating terrain, a motorway junction underpass and a railway line cut into the terrain. Note that the model has no textures or lighting but just the basic CAD model. We recommend download of the larger file.
This video is again a real-time VRML showing level of detail possible. Imagine landscaping a whole park with trees and flowers. Please note that this is a very simple example and the possibilities of extending the complexity is only limited by the capabilities of your computer.
This animation is a screen capture showing real-time interaction with a large textured CAD model in VRML format. It demonstrates the use of the model for public presentations by moving smoothly between predefined cameras in real-time. Other options are real-time walkthroughs and fly-bys. Image quality is reduced from the original due to compressed video and smaller frame size.
